Hair transplant kick-starts Wayne Rooney's game

Roo, 25 — who had an op to cure baldness in the summer — confessed: "I've spent more time in front of the mirror."

He added: "For anyone going bald it's a bit stressful — so I made a decision to get it done. I thought, 'Why not?' "

But he insisted he will not be a dressing-room rival for former team-mate Ronaldo, who waxes his whole body and has even painted his toenails.

When asked if he would be getting in touch with his feminine side, Wayne laughed: "No, I won't be like Ronaldo." The Sun revealed in June Roo had hairs from the back of his head replanted at the front, in a process called follicular transfer.

Pal Rio Ferdinand joked to him at the time: "Can't wait to see you in the mirror after training, styling your locks with loadsa products a la Ronaldo!"
